Remembering Nikki Murrhee Jolley: A Life of Love and Service

Nikki Murrhee Jolley, a beloved educator, coach, wife, and mother, passed away on August 20th, 2023 at the age of 39. Though her time on this earth was far too short, Nikki dedicated her life to helping others, touching countless lives through her work and relationships. Her loss leaves a hole in the hearts of many, but her legacy lives on through the indelible impact she made.

Early Life and Education

Born on June 25th, 1984 to Robyn Loner McInerney and Michael Jennings Murrhee Jr, Nikki spent her childhood in Florida. She attended Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree, before later earning her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Even from a young age, Nikki felt drawn to education and working with children.

Dedication to Teaching and Coaching

Nikki spent her entire 17-year professional career as an educator in the Clay County School District. She started out teaching junior high math and coaching girls volleyball at Keystone Heights High School. Recognizing her love for younger students, Nikki later transitioned to McRae Elementary, where she spent 7 years teaching, mentoring, and inspiring children in the lower grades.

In addition to teaching, Nikki served as the volleyball coach at Keystone Heights for over a decade. She loved working with the student athletes and helping them reach their potential on and off the court. Her passion for coaching shone through in the connections she built with her players.

A Loving Wife and Mother

In 2010, Nikki married Trae Jolley, with whom she raised their beloved son Jace. Her family was the cornerstone of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with her husband and son. Nikki's adoration for 11-year-old Jace was immeasurable, and she found her greatest joy in motherhood.

Nikki and Trae created a warm, loving home in Keystone Heights, where they built a life together as a close-knit family. Nikki was a fiercely devoted wife and mother who gave everything she had to her loved ones.

Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Though her time with us ended far too soon, Nikki leaves behind an incredible legacy. The lives she touched as a teacher and coach over nearly two decades are countless. Her unwavering care and commitment to her students helped nurture and guide so many children.

Nikki also leaves behind the gift of her devoted service to the community. Even when facing her own challenges, she continued to show up selflessly for others. Just as she served her students, Nikki served her loved ones and community members with a warmth and compassion that won't be forgotten.

Honoring Her Memory

To honor Nikki's giving spirit, her family has created the “Nikki’s Jolley Fund” at McRae Elementary School, where she taught for 7 years.
